Old friends

Facebook is an interesting place. I really believed that it was for the younger generation until I discovered it is much more than that. I recently found an old friend on Facebook. It was truly great because she was someone I missed. Just yesterday, she posted some pictures from high school and another old friend resurfaced. What more interesting than finding old friends is understanding that although more than 4 decades have passed, we are basically the same people that we were then. Time and experience may have changed us but the simple friendship of long ago still remains. I don’t have to explain to them who I am anymore than they need to explain themselves to me. If is freeing to meet up again without pretense. The only problem now is they are old people.
